My Daughter, Jacqueline's, Baby Shower
I can hardly believe it has been so long since my last post but summer is swiftly passing by and it has been a busy one for me, lots of garden vegetables to put up for the winter, and a few health problems along the way...the worst being food poisoning. Of which, I was sick, sick, and sick, the same week that I was suppose to be having my daughter's shower at my home (had it at hubby's shop instead). I first got sick on Monday night and stayed sick through Thursday, felt better on Friday and managed to get every thing done in time for the shower at 1:00 Saturday. Speaking of Jacqueline, my daughter, she has had a good pregnancy with the exception of a little scare a week ago but after spending the night in the hospital and slowing down a little, everything seems to be going as it should. Our little Kayla Elizabeth should make her entrance in 2 weeks and we are all excited. Jacqueline has already gotten on to me for buying too much but this is our first grandchild and it is so hard to resist....can't spoil Kayla. I've missed blogging and have so much to say but not much time to say it. I'm hoping things will be slowing down soon with the garden about finished. We have really been blessed this year with a good growing season with just enough rain. I have managed to fill our freezer plus the freezer sections of 2 of our refrigerators...very thankful. One other thing I'd like to mention is that I have had to scale back my caring for Skylar to 1 day a week due to me having carpal tunnel in both hands and I plan to help my daughter out with Kayla when she needs a babysitter. Okay, I will get off here now, but I will be back very soon. Being gone so long, I don't even know if I have any friends left to read this but I am hopeful of getting them back and making new ones. Have a nice evening everyone.
I finally added a real profile pic that was made recently....

Kayla Elizabeth! Love it! Looks like ya'll had a great shower, too! I know what you mean about blogging...I can't remember the last time I posted anything! Health issues, hubby has retired, life in general has gotten in the way! (I'll have to do better this fall!)
Debbie, I know about health issues...it is painful getting older. Most of my problems are the result of being overweight, which I am finally REALLY working on. I have missed blogging, especially reading my favorite ones. You stay so busy I can understand why you don't have time to blog, and while I have been busy, I am a little guilty of spending my free time on Facebook. Therefore, I am also going to have to do better. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment and have a great weekend.
So sorry you were sick. The shower looked lovely. Little Kayla will be a very loved little one!
Good to hear from you Elena and yes little Kayla is a very loved little one. I will be so happy when I can actually hold her in my arms...I got to feel her kick tonight at dinner...Thanks for leaving a comment.
I love your layout for the shower - tasty looking foods! Congratulations to your daughter. What fun to go shopping for baby girl clothes. I always pass those in the store and wish I could buy some again. :) Sigh...girls are so much fun to dress. Hats are "in" again for girls(and baby girls) which makes it even more fun. My daughter(five) has a whole collection of hats, all pink and a few pretty straw ones.
