Spring cleaning and a Meme

I enjoy doing these memes especially when I don't have anything to blog about. I have been so busy around here and have not had much time to think about much except getting everything ready for spring. I have managed to accomplish a lot in the past few weeks and it has been nice to take my time and get all my spring cleaning done. I am down to 2 rooms and I hope to complete them this week and then I will start on my front porch. I also plan to get my seeds started in the greenhouse for the garden. Can you tell that I am anxious for spring to hurry and get here. I am also looking forward to getting back to blogging and visiting all of my favorite blogs. Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit and I hope you have a wonderful week.

If you could go back and change one thing you did, what would it be?
My dad died in his sleep and my brother found him when he went to wake him for breakfast on Father's Day morning in 2007. My husband and I had drove past my parent's house the night before and he asked me if I wanted to stop and I said No, I was tired and would be seeing him the next day for Father's Day. I wish I could go back and change that decision. I still have his card that I didn't get to give him. My dad was recovering from a broken hip and not able to get up and down much so my sister and I had planned on going shopping that morning and making him a large gift basket of his favorite foods and snacks and other items that he could use. Instead we ended up having to go shopping that day for the clothing that he was to be buried in. You cannot imagine how much I wish I had stopped and seen my dad that night.

That's a wonderful list. I enjoyed reading it. That's great about your spring cleaning. I need to do some of that!

Interesting reading, Elizabeth. What you would change reminded me of the night my Dad died in 1993. He had been a shut in for years with emphysema and was growing weaker by the day. It was the evening before my oldest son's birthday -- 24th, I think. We stopped and talked with my mother and brother. I started into the bedroom to see Daddy but my brother stopped me and said that I probably didn't want to go in there since he hadn't cleaned up in there that day. So, I didn't go in. About 5-6 hours later we got the call that Daddy had died. If I had gone in to see him I would have known what was happening. I don't believe my brother did so I think Daddy died in that room alone. I'd for sure change that, too. But I believe, for whatever reason, we did the best we could.
Have a great weekend.

Hugs for you, Elizabeth. There's nothing like the pain of losing a Daddy.
