32nd Anniversary

This picture was made during Christmas in 1977. Kenneth had proposed earlier in the evening and I had of course accepted. You can't see it very well but I am showing off my engagement ring. We were married 9 months later on September 15, 1978. Today we are celebrating 32 years of marriage. To celebrate I fixed one of his favorite meals: smoked ribs, slaw, baked beans, corn on cob, cheddar potatoes and banana pudding. I also smoked a pork shoulder while doing the ribs so he could have barbeque sandwiches for his lunch tomorrow. I precooked the meat until it was almost done in the oven  this morning and when I got home from Skylar's this afternoon I put it in the smoker to finish cooking.  Kenneth came in, got his shower and started getting dressed. He had planned on taking me out to dinner but after assuring him that I really didn't want to go out he changed into some comfortable clothes and we had a nice dinner alone.  I knew he was tired after working all day. We spent the evening just relaxing and watching some of our favorite shows we had previously recorded on the DVR. These day, it doesn't take much to make us happy . . . just being together is enough.

Update on Skylar: He came home Saturday morning but is still not feeling well. His docs thought he would probably do better and be more comfortable at home. He has the MRSA staph infection which is hard to get rid of. We are really having to be careful to remember to wear gloves when caring for him. Please say a little prayer for him.
Thanks for stopping by.

Thank you Alexandra. I was 17 in that picture and he was 18. I was also 17 when we married 9 months later. I appreciate the prayers for Skylar, he is really going through deep depression at this time. The 3 year anniversary of his accident is on the 29th and that may have something to do with it plus he has been very sick. Thanks again and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

I love your engagement photo Elizabeth!! You two are a lovely couple no doubt about it! :)
Sorry to hear of Skylar's being so down~~ what an awful thing to be so sick and to have to remember the "anniversary"of his tragic accident.
I pray the LORD will heal his sickness and lift his spirits. God's blessings on all of you Roxanne
