Sunday Stroll

Today I thought I would accept the invitation of The Quiet Country House and share my morning stroll with you.

Early this morning I took the time to stroll around in the Goldfish Pond garden area of our home. This is the first time in weeks that I have had time to look around at everything. I noticed several places where weeds have popped up. We have had a lot of rain in the past 2 weeks and the flowers actually look good for this time of the year. There are some that look weary and some that are almost gone but most are doing well. The water is clear in the goldfish pond. We need to restock it but we haven't found out what is getting the fish so we will wait. At last count, we had 28 left out of 60. We have set a live trap several times and caught our neighbors miniature Doberman 3 times, a cat once, that my husband accidentally set free, and a possum, that my husband set free intentionally. I say from now on we set it and call animal control to come and get whatever we catch. Several of our friends have asked us what we plan to do if we catch a skunk and my plan will cover that.

I managed to capture a photo of 2 butterflies, one is in flight, at the top of the photo, and the other is on one of the zinnias. You may have to click on the picture to get a better view.

This is one of my favorite things in the garden. Several years ago my neighbor gave me these flowers, I can't remember their name, and I planted them in front of this little girl. So far they have came back each year.

Looking from the goldfish pond area down to our big pond.

A spider web on my weeping mulberry bush.

Knockout rose

Impatiens

Daylilly reblooming.

Angel trumpet. It smells wonderful. I have four yellow ones in this area. I did have more; 1 white, 2 purple, and 1 pink did not come up this year. I hope to replace them next spring.

Ornametal peppers.

Does anyone know the name of this plant. It was given to me by a lady who my husband did some work for 2 years ago. It blooms out in the evening and stays out until the heat of the day usually around lunch time.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you will visit The Quiet Country House to take a stroll with her and other participants. Have a wonderful Sunday afternoon.
