GIVING THANKS THURSDAY

Today is the last day of the "Giving Thanks" celebration at http://kellishouse.blogspot.com/. I thought I would end by writing about the things that I am most thankful for. First and foremost, I am thankful to God for all the blessings in my life. It is such a comforting feeling to know that I ALWAYS have him to go to when I need help and guidance. Next, I am thankful for my wonderful husband. He was only 18 when we got married but he has always worked hard to provide for our family and been there for us. When our children were growing up he always coached or helped coach them in different sports. He has been there for my parents, brother, sister and her family. I spend alot of time helping with my nephew and in the past I have helped care for my mom and dad and he never says a word. Even when he doesn't get the nice supper and has to settle for something I fix in a hurry, he doesn't complain. I am also thankful for our children. Each of them have grown up into very caring and responsible individuals. Both did very well in school and graduated in the top percentage of their classes. Both graduated from college while holding down full time jobs. They are and have always been very close. I am very proud of both of them. I am also thankful that my mother's cancer is still in remission. She was diagnosed with lung cancer in April of 2002. A month later she had surgery and they removed the entire right lung. They told us at that time she had small cell lung cancer and they only gave her 2-4 months to live if she chose not to do chemo and radiation. If she took the treatments they gave her 12-14 months. She did both treatments and it has been 6 years and she seems to be doing well (She is the blond in the top picture on my Sunday Nov. 16th post). These are only a few of the things that I am thankful for but they are at the top of my list.
