GIVING THANKS WEDNESDAY

Today is day 3 of the "Giving Thanks" celebration at http://kellishouse.blogspot.com/. It has been a busy day for me. I had to stay with my nephew, Skylar, until about 2 p.m. and then I came home and began cleaning and preparing my home for the holidays. Before leaving to go to Skylar's this morning I hung the bed pillows and comforter, from the guest bedroom, on the line to let the cool breeze and sunshine freshen them some. This afternoon I managed to get the guest bedroom vacuumed and dusted. I also put fresh clean, crisp sheets sprayed with lavender water and the pillows and comforter back on the bed. Now the room smells like fresh lavender and it is ready for any overnight guest we may have. Next, I cleaned the outside of the kitchen cabinets and appliances, the inside will have to wait until the weekend. I also polished the counter tops and the furniture in the dining room. Then I swept and mopped the floors in each room and vacuumed the dining room rug. Then it was time to cook supper. I also managed to do a load of laundry. Tomorrow I will have to stay with Skylar but should be home around 2:0o again and I plan to clean the den and living room. Friday, I will not have much time because I'll have to stay with Skylar until about 3:30 and my husband is usually home by that time. Each Friday night is family night for us. We usually do our shopping for the week and meet our daughter and her husband and sometimes our son and his girlfriend at a restaurant and have dinner together. We have been doing this for several years now and we look forward to it. Occasionally, Skylar, his mom, and little sister, Lauren, will join us and sometimes friends will also join. We always have a good time and enjoy being together. I am looking forward to the holidays and getting to see family members that we don't see very often. I really like this time of year.
