Spring Cleaning Update

"Real Me" at Meaningful Days is hosting a Spring Cleaning Challenge that I am participating in. Wednesday is our check in day to let everyone know how our spring cleaning is coming along. Last week I started cleaning my kitchen and finished with it on Monday. Tuesday I started cleaning my dining room since it joins the kitchen . Today I am starting on our guest bath. I had intended to start on my laundry/utility room this week but decided to put it off until next week. I would also like to let you know about a great give-away that Sue at Life At Home is having. "I have wanted to have a give-away for a long time so when I spotted these Beach Cottage sets by Rosanna at Tuesday Mornings I decided the time was right ..... these three sets are for one of my blogger friends ;) To enter to win all three sets of Beach Cottage dishes sign up to follow Life At Home in the box at the top of my side bar so I can keep up with what you are blogging about, and leave a comment on this post. Spread the word to your blogging buddies and let me know that you have, and I will enter you twice to win. In two weeks, on April 15, the winner will be announced."

Can you believe I used white grout in between my ceramic tile in the kitchen. What was I thinking??? It is HARD to keep clean. I have had it down for nine years and I have been begging my husband to replace it.

Under my island where I keep the cookware that I use most.

Cabinet above the microwave

The drawers in my island. Two of the drawers contain many of my spices.

Cabinet where I keep most of my food items. The top section contains more spices. The middle section contains most of the items that I use for baking and the last section contains my canned goods and condiments

The racks are shiny and clean although it is hard to tell by the way the light is reflecting on them.

My stove is over 15 years old. It still works fine, it just requires a little more cleaning, than the new smooth surface ones.

My refrigerator is too small but it is the only size that will fit in this space of our 31 year-old home. I have another refrigerator and upright freezer in the garage to catch the overflow.

Wow1 You have a beautiful kitchen. I love it. I have never thought of a spice drawer. I love this. I am going to have to do some rearranging. :)

I love your storage in the kitchen! We've got an older home as well, and need a smaller refrigerator. It's just the four of us, so it's not really a problem.

We need to get a new one soon; ours is about 15 years old. I've noticed it's difficult to find the smaller sized ones that aren't odd dimensions!

Nice job with spring cleaning...I need to share some of ours as well. Life is so much easier when everything is in it's place. Peace reigns! ;)

Wow! I've never seen such organized drawers. I think you should come up here and help me organize mine, Elizabeth. :-)
