December

I have been trying to get everything decorated for Christmas. Yet, I have actually done very little. I plan to go shopping tomorrow and hope that I am able to get most of the gifts we plan to buy. This year our plans are to purchase a gift card from Wal-mart for my mother, who is on a limited income. She can use it buy groceries and other items that she may need. We have already purchased a load of firewood for my elderly aunt and uncle, who heat their home with a wood burning heater. Each year we give our children money to purchase whatever they want. It is much easier than trying to buy them something they may or may not like or need. As for my husband and I, we usually decide on something we need or want for our home or property and buy it instead of buying separate gifts. Last year, it was a new TV for our den. I will purchase two $10-$15 gifts to play Dirty Santa at our family get together. Everyone enjoys playing and we usually have alot of fun. We also have friends that have small children or grandchildren that we give gifts to and I hope to bake cookies or a cake or pie for a neighbor. And I'm sure there will be a few last minute gifts we will have to buy but that's it for now.

I have been on the internet and looking through magazines for some new Christmas decorating ideas for my mantle. I found several that I liked at http://www.bhg.com/ but I think I have narrowed it down to this one. I will post pictures when I am finished. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful evening.

Hey Elizabeth,

I like the gift ideas that you had. I think that I might bake for my neighbors as well, I hadn't thought of that before. The mantel is beautiful. I am sure that it would be very pretty in your house.

Have a blessed day!
