Favorite Tea Set - "Show & Tell Friday"

My favorite tea set is electric. I have the plug in for this photo. I have never actually used it but have had it setting in different areas of my home.

The set includes: teapot, 4 cups, sugar bowl and creamer.

For "Show and Tell Friday" hosted by Kelli at http://kellishouse.blogspot.com/ I would like to share my favorite tea set. In 1967 (I was still a young child, 7 years old) we had some new neighbors move next door to us and they were newlyweds. My mom soon became friends with the woman and I spent a lot of time visiting in her home. She had this tea set that she had received as a wedding gift and she kept up in her cabinet. I loved that tea set. I grew up and got married and moved away from the neighborhood but I still remained close to this lady. In 1980 my mom and she were having a yard sale and I happened to be there when they were setting up. Imagine my surprise when she brought out this tea set. I very quickly asked how much and she said $5.00. It went home with me that day and I have protected it all these years but I have always had it setting out. Throughout the years it has set in different areas of our home. At this time it is setting on top of an oak cabinet in our den. However, I plan to move it to the buffet in the dining room soon. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you will visit Kelli and see what others are showing.

My great aunt had a teapot just like that, but didn't have any of the other pieces. It looks beautiful on your pie safe.

It's so lovely to own things which have a personal history or story with them, isn't it. Such beautiful china!

What a charming set...LOVE it! And I cannot live without at least two cups of tea a day, so it is right up my alley. :-)
