Great Weekend

I had a very busy and productive weekend. We have had some beautiful weather, especially for July, with low humidity and the highs in the low to mid 80's and I defiantly took advantage of it. I got up Saturday morning and watered my flowers and went out to my son's house next door where I started digging up flowers along the fence to replace with new shrubs. I was also blessed to have my husband and son's help, and they were very helpful. The three of us was able to get a lot accomplished. They completely removed all the shrubs from the front of the house while I was busy with the fence area. Today, Morgan, our son's fiancee, also helped and we managed to replace most of the landscaping around the front of the house and add new mulch. Everything looks so much better. I hope to finish up with the landscaping this week and then I will need to do a little painting and we should be done with the house area. Next, I plan to move to the gazebo area and give it a good weeding and cleaning. I also need to do a little painting on the gazebo and I have new plants that I will be adding to the flower bed around it. When I finish there I will move over to my husband's shop. I need to do some landscaping in front and the front porch needs to be cleaned good. Then I should be done except for watering all the plants and weeding. Keeping the lawn green and looking good during August and September also requires a lot of watering but it is manageable. I really enjoyed the weekend and getting to spend time with my family, I wish our daughter could have been here also. My only regret is Lee, our son, and I both got into some poison oak and have a rash. His, is on his arm and mine is on my hands and between my fingers (pulling weeds). I have lye soap to use on the rash and hopefully it will be gone in a few days. Thanks for stopping by.

HI Elizabeth!
Sounds like you were a busy bee this weekend! We did have just glorious weather didn't we? It was almost cool in the mornings and we actually turned OFF the a/c yesterday and opened the windows!
Oooo that is awful about the poison ivy! Thanks for the tip about Lye soap--hope it clears it up fast for you both.
Hugs,
Lynn♥

Glad you had a great weekend! I too have a rash! No idea if it is Poison Ivey, or oak BUT also no idea how I got it! Must have been off an animal at work! It is on my right arm above the wrist and going on to my back! SO I can relate! I've been treating it for a week now. Hope you have better luck!
Hugs, Lisa
