The weather in my neck of the woods:
It is 88 degrees and partly cloudy.
One of my simple pleasures:
Waking to a clean house.
On my bedside table:
I still have a box of Puffs tissues and I still have a cold.
On my TV:
Has not been turned on.
On the menu for tonight:
Homemade vegetable soup, and grilled cheese sandwich
On my To Do List:
Make the bed and pick up in bedroom
Go over and help Skylar (4 hours)
Clean and vacuum guest bedroom
Do a few loads of laundry
New Recipe I tried last week:
Cherry Delight Salad
1 can cherry pie filling
1 can Eagle Brand Milk
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 (5-ounce) can crushed pineapple
1 (8-ounce) carton sour cream
1 (8-ounce) cool whip
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Mix all ingredients in order and chill until firm. May also freeze in foil cupcake cups.
In the craft basket:
Two pair of Skylar's jeans. I tailor all of his jeans according to his specifications. Being in a wheel chair, he is very particular with how his jeans fit . He does not like them baggy so I take them in and make them more narrow through the thigh area down to the knees. I do this to every new pair of jeans that he buys.
Looking forward to:
Fall and not having so much to do.
Homemaking Tip for this week:
Have a squeaky door hinge? Get a can of lubricating oil (WD40) and some paper or cloth. Hold the paper or cloth near the squeaky hinge.. Put a few drops of oil at the top of the hinge and let the oil run in and down by moving the hinge back and forth. Wipe off the excess oil! No more squeaks.
Favorite photo from last week:
That you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.
On my Prayer List:
My husband and children
Skylar
Mae (brother's death).
Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
"Through wisdom is an house builded, and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches."Proverbs 24:3-4
