I have wanted to see my sister's keeper since it first came out at the theaters. However, we never go to the theater and see a movie instead we wait until it comes out on DVD and either buy it or borrow it from our son. I bought this one and found it very difficult to watch . . . I was watching it with my husband, who knows I always cry when I watch these "heart" movies that I love . . . I do not like science fiction or violent movies. I not only cried during this movie but there were times when I actually sobbed . . . hard and loud, like a baby. I had to get up and leave the room a few times so my husband would not think I was losing it . . . I would actually go in the bathroom and bawl and then have to deal with the red eyes and face . . . hoping he wouldn't notice but he did. After the movie my husband said, "I don't know why you want to watch something that is going to upset you so much." Yes, I did get very emotional through . . . most of it but I loved the movie and plan to watch it again sometime when I have recovered and I am alone. I did not see all of the end . . . another trip to the bathroom. Why this movie had more of an emotional affect on me than usual, I don't really know, although the degree to which I bawled may have been due to the fact that I needed an outlet for some stored up emotions or maybe I was too sensitive to the subject matter of the movie (trying not to give any details in case you haven't seen it yet and plan to). I know I am more emotional and sensitive these days and both of these reasons probably contributed to my reaction. But I also have to admit that I am a total "bawler" with any book or movie that pulls the heartstrings. As far as this movie, my husband admitted to my sister that my sister's keeper put a lump in his throat a few times. . . yeah, he's not so tough after all. Have you seen it yet and if you have, how far into the movie did you get before the tears came?
I did go to the Doctor this afternoon and I have Sinusitis. He said my left ear was infected as was my sinuses and throat. He gave my a shot and prescription for Ceftin (Cefuroxime) 500 MG. I also learned something very important during my visit about taking blood pressure medicine. You had better be careful about mixing it with certain cold medications. I am suppose to take my BP medication everyday but over the past 2 days I have also been taking 1 Aleve Cold & Sinus tablet a day to help me feel better and I have noticed that my blood pressure has seemed very high. I have been feeling dizzy, finger tips tingling but I thought it might be the flu or something. Today when the nurse checked my blood pressure she said it was very high and I told her that it had been that way for 2 days and I had been taking my blood pressure like I am suppose too (they know I don't like taking medicine). She made a note and when the doctor came in he asked if I had been taking any cold medicines and I told him yes, Aleve. He said, "you can't take that with your BP medication." OooH. He said I could take Claritan but it could not be Claritin-D, no medication with a D after the name. I need to read my prescription's better. I am feeling better and looking forward to the Alabama/Florida game on Saturday. Roll Tide!!!!!!
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Just watched this one the weekend after Thanksgiving and yes, it is a tearjerker. The book kept me torn up for days (I read it a long time ago) and I have to admit that I cried a little during the movie even though I knew exactly what to expect. My biggest problem with it was the fact that they changed the ending. Why oh why must they do that to an author's work? As a writer, that really bothers me.
Glad you saw the doc and got some meds. Also, there is a Coricidin BP (for those with high bp) on the market. Hope you're feeling much better soon! :)
Hi,
Glad that you were able to figure out what was wrong and now you can be on the mend. There are a lot of med's your not suppose to mix. One is grapefruit with certain herbs/vit/med.
I'm a Librarian and can't even read that book. LoL. All of Jodi Picoult's books have hard-ship to them. I do not like to read or hardly ever like to watch movies like that due to I've had cancer. The bible says in 2 Timothy 1:7 to have sound mind/ Philippians 4:8-9 tells us to think on the good things. But occasionally I will watch a movie that has a lesson for us that can build character and have gratefulness for our life. I'm a very sensitive person also who cries on a whim. Not to mention that menopausal does not help :(
Prayers for fast healing. There is nothing like a lingering virus gone septic to get you completely run down and feeling icky. Get yourself a little sunshine and rest.
I can't watch that movie...I saw the previews and decided it was just too heavy for me. There are a few movies that I'll never watch again - Bridges of Madison County tore me up(sobbing).
I'll be thinking of you when I watch the game. Go Gators(giggle). ;) Sorry, it's my alma mater. I like the Tides too though.
Hi Elizabeth,
I pray you feel better soon. :)
Hugs,
Elizabeth
I'm so glad you are feeling better and that the doc was able to help you out. I know about crying. I have not seen this movie or even heard of it. But it sounds good. I am emotional over heart string movies too!
Elizabeth, I'm glad you are feeling a bit better. By the way, I cry at sad movies too.
